Trending Books May 12th-18th

Danger strikes in the heart of Gotham. Somewhere, someone is tweeting about a book that you are destined to love, but how will you discover it? Suddenly you look up a silhouette lighted against the clouds, it’s the book signal, which can only mean one thing: Bookvibe! Find out about that and all the best books people talking about over at Bookvibe’s Weekly Trending Books.

This week’s top trending book was The Lean Enterprise: How Corporations Can Innovate Like Startups by Trevor Owens, the Founder & CEO of, an innovation training & software company known for the Lean Startup Machine workshop. Javelin is a fitting name considering that his book has sportingly shot its way to the top of the charts since it’s release this march.

Next up we’ve got No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden, the NSA, and the U.S. Surveillance State by Glenn Greenwald. Fittingly, you’d have to be hiding under a rock to have not heard of this story. Now obviously the NSA has already gotten their own leaked copy, but word of tweet has ensured that the book is as public as prism.

Over in Scifi, we’ve got Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. Find out where the new Batfleck costume got it’s look, leading IGN’s Scott Collura to tweet the following:

And if Batman isn’t enough to shake you to your core, why not try the other major loner vigilante in American publishing, Sam Harris, who’s book Waking Up: A Guide to Spirituality Without Religion has completed a hail mary pass to make it to the top of our Self-help section. Congratulations Sam, your prayers have been answered!

Also on the charts is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling, which has just been greenlit for a 3 movie picture deal, finally The Hobbit will have some competition for the most over-inflated adaptation for the purpose of selling popcorn!

But what’s that? You need more Ben Affleck movie tie-ins to make your week complete? Oh fine. at number 5 on the mystery and thriller list we have Gone Girl: A Novel, by Gillian Flynn. In this book, Nick Dunne, played by Ben Affleck in the forthcoming adaptation has to figure out who killed his wife before the crime gets pinned on him. We’re not worried though, because when it comes to mysteries, who’s better at solving them than Batman, The World’s Greatest Detective!

That’s all for now, but stay tuned to find about the books that are racing up the charts and sign up for Bookvibe so you can get in on the action first!
