It’s a shame you rarely see books trending on Twitter (although Divergent turned that around somewhat recently in the form of movie buzz). That’s why we create our trending lists every week! Our robot minions look for book discussions across Twitter and evaluate them into books-only Trending lists. Books that continue to grow in mentions will be ranked higher, displaying new releases that garner hot discussions and others that have broken into the popular media. You can check out the week’s update here!
Notable points of interest this week include:
J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘Beowulf’ Translation
To the delight of many slick readers and Tolkien-fans alike, news broke that an 88 year old translation of the epic Beowulf was to be finally published this May. The excited uproar among thousands of Twitter users accelerated it through our trending ranks.
‘Thrive’ by Arianna Huffington
We’ve seen it gain steam in past weeks, but as the countdown to release drew to a close, we detected mentions of Arianna Huffington’s book at its highest yet. Her memoir of success continues garners high praise and anticipation among eager readers.
‘Promise of a Pencil’ by Adam Braun
Our #1 trending book this week is Adam Braun’s story of how he left his financial career to found his non-profit “Pencils of Promise”. It’s release buzz squarely beat out all contenders and our robots placed this book at the very top of our trending lists.
